Why not implement QB Enterprise vs. T-Tree's Real-Time Reporting?

In our experience we have found that small businesses purchase Enterprise for the purpose of distributing reporting access. The software, hardware, and resources needed to implement an Enterprise solution can easily exceed $4,000. Add on hidden costs such as QB training and costs to maintain/update that QB environment and you have a significant investment to consider.

Our Real-Time Reporting package offers you the benefit of distributed and secure access to your financial reports without that significant investment. Our package further adds value by enabling access to these reports from any web browser. Imagine a Sales Rep getting real-time access to their client's account while on-site and you'll understand the power of this web-enablement. When you set up users you have full control over what reports and filters they have access to.

How does Remote QB Access differ from WebEx or GotoMyPC?

These remote connect solutions are based on the same premise and function similarly - so there isn't much difference. However, by hosting our own solution we can pass on the savings to you. With our Remote QuickBooks Access service you'll have all the functionality of a desktop system running QuickBooks available to you 24/7. You won't have to pay for the costs to acquire the hardware and software and ensure the computer is always running.

What's the difference between Remote QB Access and Real-Time Reporting?

Both approaches will allow you real-time access to your data. But both differ greatly in technology and will impact the accessibility of this information. Consider these factors with any remote access solution:
  • Typical solutions require an installation of some kind. Most corporate and public environments are locked down and will not allow such installations. Some installations are OS specific as well.
  • Remote connections require additional costs for hardware and licensing for each user/connection. This doesn't scale very well. It's something we've accounted for in our Remote QuickBooks Access service. But any company looking to implement their own solution would need to invest significantly and would need an IT admin to maintain that environment.
  • Remote connecting to a computer running QB gives that user direct access to QB. This means a user would have more access than you are willing to give. It would also mean that the user would need some training in using QB.
  • Depending on your remote connection, you may not be able to save files (reports) locally or even print reports off your local printer.
Our Real-Time Reporting addresses all of these factors.
  • Only a web browser is required for accessing your reports. The browser, OS, and hardware doesn't matter as long as it has a web browser. Mac, Linux, iPhones, PDA's... if it has a secure web browser with javascript support - you can access your reports.
  • Our base subscription to our Real-Time Reporting package is only $50 a month. Our Remote QB Access is $50 a month per user. So for single users, the costs are the same. However, the real value of Real-Time Reporting is with multiple users. Our Role Based Reporting package opens up access to an unlimited number of users for only $100 a month.
  • Our Real-Time Reporting only offers reports. Users won't have access to enter/edit any data or sensitive information such as credit card and bank information. Furthermore, with the Role Based package, you can define which reports a user can access. For example, you can create a Sales Rep specific report that a rep can only access.
  • Because you would be accessing the reports through a web browser, you would have all the functionality you typically expect - saving and printing included.
Our Privacy Policy

We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer our site, to analyze trends, to track user movement, and to gather broad demographic information—all for the purpose of continually improving our website and delivering personalized, custom content.
